Yellow Ribbon Highway

Highway 529The north lane of the Yellow Ribbon Highway will be closed to traffic to ensure a quality race experience. The Washington State Department of Transportation dedicated State Route 529 as the Yellow Ribbon Highway on November 5, 2009. The Yellow Ribbon Highway connects Marysville and Everett, and runs in front of the Everett Navy base. This designation honors all active U.S. military personnel residing and serving in Washington and deployed to foreign assignments. The Half Marathon course follows the highway from Port Gardner landing to Marysville and back. click here for more information.

HALF MARATHON COURSE DESCRIPTION

  • The Heroes Half Marathon starts and finishes in Port Gardner Landing, an attractive plaza that fronts the Everett Marina.

  • After a mass start, the course goes north along the west side of West Marine View Drive.

  • The elevation gain is 379 feet.

  • At the top of the incline, the course goes under the overpass and cross the road to turn north on the overpass.

  • The course is then mainly flat all the way to Marysville and back.

  • At Marysville, there is a loop around Marysville streets and an out and back along the Snohomish River..

  • After turning around in Marysville, the course enters the Marine Park before returning to Port Gardner Landing.

  • The Heroes Half Marathon starts and finishes in Port Gardner Landing, an attractive plaza that fronts the Everett Marina.

  • After a mass start, the course goes north along the west side of West Marine View Drive.

  • At the top of the incline, the course goes under the overpass and cross the road to turn north on the overpass.

  • The course turn around is on the bridge

  • The 10K then returns on the west side of Marine View Dr on sidewalks to the finish line at Port Gardner Landing.
